Network Marketing

Network and Connect

Networking with business associates and connecting with potential clients or customers, is absolutely crucial for any small business success. Through the creation of Social Media, the potential to connect with a virtually unlimited amount of people all around the world, has never been easier. The most important component of a successful business, is to build a relationship. Don't stand atop your virtual pulpit and preach to your followers, engage them, get them involved, and promptly reply when your outreach is reciprocated. Remember, connecting is a two-way street. Here are a few other social tips to follow:

  • Schedule your emails, tweets, status updates and blog posts at the valued time (when you have a captive audience). You want to catch your audience not only when they’re checking their messages and news feed, but when they might have a few minutes to click through a link and check something out.
  • Use images as often as possible. Research has shown that photos perform better than even videos, links or texts on Facebook.
  • Follow or Favorite all people on twitter who retweet your articles. This is a good way to gather more followers who enjoy your content.
  •  Don’t use it as a sales platform. It’s pretty obvious why a business is on social media: To improve sales, whether directly or through building customer relationships (which will hopefully lead to more sales). However, this isn’t a direct sales platform so don’t treat it that way. Instead, foster relationships and provide information or entertainment for free.
  • The heart of your business is directly tied to your email list. Facebook ads are one of the most powerful lead generating platforms for small businesses today. Specifically, page post ads that drive traffic to a free, valuable giveaway (such as a free training video, ebook or cheat sheet) are extremely effective. These ads are inexpensive, highly targeted and can be completely automated.
